2015 is the International Year of Light and Light-Based Technologies and the research company Fraunhofer wanted to create more awareness about it to promote further developments in technology. They decided to go for one of our classic items: the Cambridge Mug to showcase both logos.
The promotional Cambridge Mug has a simple shape with straight walls and a symmetrical, large handle - it is comfortable to hold and fits easily into any kitchen. The mug is 93 mm tall and measures 80 mm in diameter. Capacity is substantial 330 ml.
After choosinng the item, the decision had to be made on the printing. Even though both logos that were used were made up of spot colours, there were as many as twelve of them - which would make screen printing set up costs expensive. For this reason, we advised to go with a dye sublimation print to showcase all the colours and save on the printing costs.
The result was a crisp white mug with the logos taking centre stage.
