The ad agency Red Lion Publicis used a simple notebook in an innovative way to enhance their promotions. They sent the Doodle Book, along with a pencil and pencil sharpener, to their clients and prospective clients as a way to keep the firm at the forefront of people's minds, and to say thanks. Each page of the notebook contained an image of a pencil shaving in a different shape. The recipient could then use the image as a starting point for their own artwork, as with the peacock below. To further the reach and effectiveness of this marketing campaign, they also asked the recipients to send in drawings they had done in the Doodle Book. They then put them up on the Wall of Doodle Honour in their offices. This way, Red Lion really emphasised the creative aspect of their brand, and kept their clients thinking about them!
